| In connection with the Oslo Policy Forum on 28-29 February, the World Bank Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction is organizing a consultation on advancing South-South cooperation in mainstreaming disaster reduction. Recognising that well-designed partnerships among low and middle income countries can make a valuable contribution to attaining the objectives of the Hyogo Framework for Action, the GFDRR has established a new fund to stimulate greater South-South cooperation which will also contribute to progressing the International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction. The consultation will advise GFDRR on the efficient functioning of the South-South Cooperation Fund. All participants at the Oslo Policy Forum are also invited to the consultation which will be held from 2.00 – 6.00 pm on February 27 at the Soria Moria Hotel & Conference Centre, Oslo. |
